The following are some of the common condtions of the hair in alphabetical order.

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes patches of hair loss. The immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles and hair production is inhibited. Alopecia Areata may progress to Alopecia Totalis (loss of all scalp hair) or Alopecia Universalis (all body hair) in extreme cases.

Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic Alopecia is the most common type of hair loss affecting both men and women. Hair follicles with sensitivity to androgens gradually decrease in size and cease to produce hair. Androgenetic Alopecia is caused by genetic predisposition and environmental factors.

Telogen Effluvium

Telogen Effluvium is a relatively common condition characterized by increased diffuse hair shedding. The acute form (lasting less than six months) can affect both men and women, while the chronic form (lasting more than six months) predominantly affects women.
